How Anonfile collects, uses and protects your data.

This Privacy Policy explains what information Anonfile ("we", "us") collects when you use our free file-sharing service, how it is used, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect the minimum needed to run the service, we never sell data, and we do not follow you around the web.

1. Information we collect

  • Files you upload — stored with our cloud storage provider until they expire or you delete them. File names, sizes and a random share link are part of the service.
  • Account details (optional) — if you create a free account: first name, last name and email address. Guests can upload without any account.
  • Technical data — IP address and approximate country, recorded for logins, uploads, downloads and page visits. This powers unique-download counting, abuse prevention and aggregate statistics.
  • Cookies — a session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not run advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

2. How we use information

  • To store, share and deliver your files.
  • To enforce fair-use limits (file size, storage) and retention windows.
  • To fight spam, fraud and abuse (rate limiting, unique-download counting).
  • To answer messages you send us.

3. Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. The service is funded by on-site advertising, not by data. We share data only with the processor that stores file content and with e-mail delivery (for account e-mails). Each processor receives only what it needs.

4. Retention

  • Guest files are kept for 30 days; registered files for 60 days — measured from the most recent upload or download.
  • Every download extends a file by +3 days (up to the tier window), so files people keep downloading stay online.
  • Neglected files are permanently deleted after their window ends.
  • Interrupted uploads are removed automatically within hours.
  • Account data is kept while your account exists; you can request deletion any time.

5. Your rights

You can delete individual files at any time, and request account deletion or a copy of your data through the contact page. We answer within 30 days.

6. Changes

We may update this policy; the date above always reflects the latest version. Significant changes will be announced on the site.
